Parading

some bats rock back and forth

We shake with joy, we shake with grief.

as we came to understand

then I recall / your face like a cartoon treasure chest

I am not trying to change the world,

the particulate matter of hatred is spreading itself across everything

waving at the clouds: are you measurable,

Let us feel like we did our jobs today.

Or maybe, light appears

I let my oars fall into the water.
